SERENE CULTURE
How it all began…
Serene Culture was curated by a collaborative group of young artists empowering the culture through fashion, music, and art. It all came together when four students from Virginia Commonwealth University, put their creative minds together to put on a unique fashion show known as Serene Culture.
The event was held at the VCU Arts Depot in Richmond, Virginia.
EMPOWERING THE CULTURE THROUGH FASHION
The team and I discussed the theme and direction for the first fashion and art appreciation show. Our focus was centered around local brands, artists, and designers to have a platform to showcase their work and network with other creatives.
We announced the show on our social networks and held auditions virtually, requiring potential models to submit their portfolios through email. Once selected, we reached out to brands and artists that wanted to participate and began holding weekly practices to prepare.
