Serene Culture: 365 Tour

Serene Culture means bringing the various aspects of urban culture together in a harmonious way, which is exactly what we set out to do with our events. With many notable brands and designers showcasing their lines, visual artists exhibiting their pieces, and performances we had all of our attendees fully engaged into the event and about what Serene Culture means to us.

Serene Culture was founded by myself and three other VCU students, Malik Sparrow, Khamahri Ward, and Aysia Ward. The Serene Culture team hosted its 2nd annual Fashion & Art Appreciation Show on April 7th, 2018. The highly anticipated show was held at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA. The team has worked extremely hard to make the show bigger and better than their last show, which was held at the VCU Arts Depot last April. The theme of this year's show was "365 Tour", which takes you on a tour of the four seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

The show aimed to be a huge networking event for artists, designers, models, and brands to get their work out there and build their portfolios. The atmosphere was filled with young and driven creatives from everywhere. Each brand and designer was placed in a season depending on their style of work. We featured brands such as Insertname, Santiago, Earl Mack, Essentials, Rotate, Blues, Kapitol, and TWOZZ. These brands are based in the 757 and RVA area. We also featured designers Hoodlvm, Kenneth Love, Kinetic Designs, Victim 15, and Santwa Couture.

A few featured guest included our host, Naturally B Nicki, who kept the crowd entertained throughout the entire night, local artists Bryce Cobbs, Earl Mark, & JaQuay Copeland. We even had musical performances by two talented rappers known as Von Sensei & Miah Travis. The VCU Dance Team opened the show with a beautiful dance routine. DJ Vel had the crowd hype throughout the show. The event was sold out with over 250 guests and turned out to be huge success.

This isn't the last you'll hear from the Serene Culture team. We have so much more exciting projects that we're working on and can't wait to share them with you all.
